Best in Design™: Live at High Point Market Official Rules

1. Sponsor

Best in Design: Live at High Point Market (the "Competition") is sponsored by Loloi, Inc. ("Sponsor").

Although hosting the program as part of their Keynote Series, the High Point Market Authority is not responsible for any part of the design competition, related prizes, judging process or any other component. Sponsor assumes all rights and responsibilities related to such.

2. Competition Overview

Best in Design: Live at High Point Market celebrates exceptional interior designers by recognizing outstanding completed residential and commercial projects from their portfolios.

Four finalists will be selected to present their projects live during High Point Market. Following evaluation by the judging panel, one finalist will be named the Competition winner during the live event.

3. Entry Period

The Competition begins at 12:00 a.m. Central Time on August 17, 2026, and ends at 11:59 p.m. Central Time on September 17, 2026 ("Entry Period"). Entries received after the deadline will not be considered.

4. Eligibility

The Competition is open to professional interior designers who:

  • Are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.
  • Are legal residents of, and principally conduct their interior design business within, the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
  • Submit a completed project meeting the eligibility requirements.
  • Are able to travel to and present their project live during High Point Market if selected as a finalist.

Travel, lodging, meals, visas, passports, and all other travel-related expenses are the sole responsibility of each finalist.

Employees of Sponsor, members of the judging panel, and each of their immediate family members and household members are not eligible to enter.

5. Eligible Projects

Projects must:

  • Have been substantially completed, fully installed, and ready for occupancy between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026.
  • Be designed by the entrant.
  • Be actual built projects. Conceptual work, student work, unbuilt designs, renderings, and AI-generated imagery are not eligible. Both residential and commercial projects are eligible.

Projects that have previously been published in magazines, books, websites, or other media remain eligible.

6. Entry Requirements

Each entrant may submit only one project.

Entries must be submitted by an individual designer. If selected as a finalist, the entrant will serve as the sole presenter of the submitted project during the live event.

Each project may be entered only once.

Multiple designers from the same firm may enter provided each designer submits a different eligible project.

All required information and materials must be submitted during the Entry Period. Incomplete or inaccurate submissions may be disqualified.

No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win.

7. Submission Representations

By submitting an entry, each entrant represents and warrants that:

  • They are the principal interior designer or lead designer responsible for the submitted project and is authorized to submit it on behalf of the project team, if applicable.
  • All information submitted is accurate.
  • They own the submitted photographs or have obtained all necessary permissions from the photographer and any other rights holders sufficient to permit Sponsor's use of such materials as described in Section 11, at no cost to Sponsor.
  • They have obtained any permissions reasonably necessary from their client for participation in the Competition.
  • The submission does not infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other intellectual property rights.
  • The submission contains no AI-generated images or renderings.

Sponsor reserves the right to request documentation verifying any of the above.

8. Judging

Eligible submissions will be reviewed by Sponsor and an independent judging panel.

Entries will be evaluated based on:

  • Overall design excellence
  • Creativity and originality
  • Functional success
  • Cohesion and execution
  • Presentation and storytelling

Judges may recuse themselves from evaluating any submission for which they have an actual or perceived conflict of interest.

All judging decisions are final.

9. Finalists

Four finalists will be selected and invited to present their projects live during High Point Market.

If a selected finalist is unable or unwilling to participate, Sponsor may select an alternate finalist.

Finalists agree to:

  • Execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, publicity release, and any other required documentation within five (5) days of notification as a condition of being confirmed as a finalist and receiving any prize.
  • Attend the live event.
  • Present their project before the judging panel and audience.
  • Participate in reasonable interviews, photography, video recording, and promotional activities related to the Competition.

10. Prizes

Each finalist will receive a cash prize of US $2,000 upon timely execution and return of the required affidavit of eligibility, liability release, publicity release, and any other documentation required by Sponsor.

One finalist will be selected as the Competition winner and will receive an additional US $10,000, subject to the same documentation requirements.

The approximate total prize value is US $18,000.

Winners are solely responsible for any applicable federal, state, local, provincial, or international taxes and reporting obligations.

As a condition of receiving any prize, each finalist must provide a completed IRS Form W-9 (or other applicable tax documentation) and any other documentation Sponsor reasonably requires. Sponsor will withhold from prize payments and report to tax authorities as required by applicable law. Prizes not claimed, or for which required documentation is not provided, within thirty (30) days of notification, will be forfeited.

11. Intellectual Property

Entrants retain all ownership rights in their submitted materials.

By entering the Competition, entrants grant Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their respective agencies and media partners a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use submitted materials, including photographs and project descriptions, in connection with:

  • Administration of the Competition;
  • Promotion of the Competition;
  • Promotion of future editions of the Competition;
  • Marketing, advertising, editorial, social media, website, presentations, and public relations activities.

Sponsor will make reasonable efforts to credit designers and photographers whenever practical.

12. Verification

Sponsor reserves the right to verify any information submitted, including but not limited to:

  • Project completion dates
  • Designer authorship
  • Photography permissions
  • Client permissions
  • Project eligibility

Failure to provide requested documentation may result in disqualification.

13. Disqualification

Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who:

  • Violates these Official Rules.
  • Submits false or misleading information.
  • Attempts to manipulate the Competition.
  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of others.
  • Engages in fraudulent, deceptive, or unsportsmanlike conduct.

14. Publicity

Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Competition constitutes permission for Sponsor to use an entrant's name, likeness, biography, firm name, project information, photographs, voice, and presentation for promotional purposes without additional compensation.

15. Limitation of Liability

Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, corrupted, misdirected, or technically malfunctioning entries.

Sponsor is not responsible for travel disruptions, venue changes, force majeure events, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

16. Indemnification

Each entrant agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sponsor and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from entrant's submission, including claims of infringement, violation of privacy or publicity rights, or breach of any representation in these Official Rules.

17. Modification or Cancellation

Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Competition at any time if circumstances beyond Sponsor's reasonable control compromise the fairness or administration of the Competition.

18. Governing Law

The Competition shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.

19. Privacy

Information collected through the Competition will be used for administering the Competition and in accordance with Sponsor's Privacy Policy.
